Dr. Collin Starkweather has been an economics and technology consultant for over 20 years and has worked with many of the industry’s foremost experts in financial and competition economics.
Dr. Starkweather has experience in a wide variety of areas, including artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML), competition in technology and telecommunications markets, patent and other intellectual property (IP) disputes, market manipulation in financial markets, securities valuation, securities fraud, damages valuation, and corporate governance. He regularly publishes and speaks on topics including AI/ML, competition, finance, IP, and cryptocurrency.
Dr. Starkweather has worked on numerous prominent litigation and regulatory matters with claims in the billions of dollars, including litigation related to the Enron and Lehman Brothers bankruptcies and the bailout of AIG and regulatory investigations involving alleged manipulation of LIBOR and other financial benchmarks, as well as merger reviews and antitrust litigation involving some of the largest multinational technology and telecommunications firms in the world.
Previously, he worked with the Chicago Partners economics consulting group through their acquisition first by Navigant Consulting (as Navigant Economics) and then by Charles River Associates. He has also worked at Lexecon (now Compass Lexecon).
In addition to his work as an economics consultant, Dr. Starkweather has been a software architect and engineer and managed technology development at three successful high-tech startup companies.
He received his PhD and Master’s degrees in economics from the University of Colorado, where his research focused on numerical optimization, computable general equilibrium modeling, and network effects. He also received a BA in mathematics from the University of Colorado.
