Laura Phillips Perkins, Affiliate
Ms. Perkins is an economist specializing in antitrust and competition with a particular focus in health care and life sciences. During her 24 years of microeconomic consulting experience, she has provided empirical and qualitative economic analyses and managed expert testimony for a broad spectrum of consulting engagements in antitrust, intellectual property, class certification, and other complex commercial litigation matters. In her case work, Ms. Perkins has evaluated allegations of attempted monopolization, price fixing, bundling, exclusionary conduct, fraud, patent infringement, trade secrets misappropriation, and breach of contract. Ms. Perkins also has extensive experience analyzing the competitive effects of mergers and acquisitions.
Ms. Perkins’ consulting work has spanned a broad range of industries, including health care payors and providers, pharmaceuticals, disability insurance, clinical laboratories, PBMs, pharmacy retailers, and medical device suppliers, as well as professional sports, technology, payment networks, industrials, energy, and various consumer products. During her consulting career, Ms. Perkins has performed numerous empirical analyses involving large, complex data (including health claims, store scanner, and other transaction-level sales data).
Prior to her affiliation with Coherent Economics, Ms. Perkins supported many of the industry’s top experts at Charles River Associates, Quantitative Economic Solutions, and Competition Dynamics. Ms. Perkins holds a B.A. in Economics and French, summa cum laude, from Wheaton College and a M.A. in Economics, with specialties in Industrial Organization and Comparative Economic Systems, from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
